Benefits of Student Membership
So, you may be interested but you want to know: "what do I get for my annual US $50 student membership fee?". Good question! Check out these reasons:

• Networking: "It's not what you know but who you know": well, there's some truth to this expression. Get the inside track on many different aspects of special librarianship and those jobs that no one on the outside hears about.

• Edge on the Resume: Your membership shows a potential employer that you are interested in the profession and up on the issues. You never know, a fellow SLA member might be the one interviewing you!

• Saving the Bucks: Let's face it: you'll probably belong to several professional organizations during your career. The student membership is less than half the full membership fee. You might as well save money while you can!
